YRC Shipping and Packaging Options

YRC Shipping Options

Bus Role – The relationship between the customer location and the shipment (i.e. Shipper, Consignee, Third Party); defaults to Shipper.

Payment Terms – The terms of payment for the shipment (i.e. Prepaid, Collect); defaults to Prepaid.

Total Weight (Numeric) – The total weight, in pounds, of the shipment. The system will compute from the commodity line items if not provided. Must match the accumulated commodity weight.

Total Cubic Feet (Numeric) – The total cubic feet of the shipment. Maximum of one decimal place allowed.

Total Linear Feet (Numeric) – The total linear feet of the shipment. Maximum of one decimal place allowed.

Hazmat Ind (T/F) – Specifies if the shipment contains hazardous materials.

Service Options – Additional shipment options (i.e. Hazmat, Inside Delivery, etc.). Displays as a multi-select dropdown.

COD Amount (Numeric) – Cash on delivery. The amount, if any, to be collected upon delivery. Format is 99.99.

Currency Code – The currency used to display the output of the rate quote (i.e. USD, CAN); defaults to USD.

Delivery Date – The requested delivery date. This variable should only be present in the case where the customer is requesting a YRC Time-Critical Service detail quote. In all other cases, the value of the expected delivery date is computed based upon the pickup date and level of service requested.

Discount Percent (Numeric) – When present, the user-supplied discount percent will be used in lieu of that named in the customer’s discount tariff item.

FAK Factor (Numeric) – When present, the user-supplied FAK factor will be used in lieu of that named in the customer’s FAK tariff item.

Guarantee (T/F) – Can only be used on Time Critical Service.

Tilt (T/F) – Determines if the freight can be safely tilted.

Break Down (T/F) – Determines if the freight can be broken down into smaller units.

Heaviest Piece (T/F) – The weight in pounds of the heaviest piece of freight.

Ready Time (Date Time) – Used for tracking only YRC Time-Critical hourly window as start time.

Close Time (Date Time) – Used for tracking only YRC Time-Critical hourly window as end time.

YRC Packaging Options

Item ID (Free Form) – Identifier of the commodity line (maximum of three characters).

Handling Units (Numeric) – How many items or packages make up the whole package per item (i.e. if 1 pallet consists of 10 boxes, 10 would go in this spot); defaults to 1 if left at 0 when sending quote to YRC.

Package Code – Specifies the overall type of the line item (i.e. SKD [skids], CRN [cartons], and PLT [pallets]); defaults to SKD.

Hazardous Class – Sets the hazmat class for line items if the item is classified as hazardous (i.e. B Explosive, C Explosive, D Explosive, etc.).
